Hands-on Session: Mechanical Thrombectomy in Acute Ischemic Stroke

The Santis Academy Hands-on Session: Endovascular Treatment of Ischemic Stroke is part of the Balkan Endovascular Conference 2026, a leading regional meeting dedicated to innovation and best practices in endovascular therapy.

The session is designed as an integrated educational format combining expert-led lectures and hands-on training, with a focus on contemporary endovascular approaches to acute ischemic stroke, including mechanical thrombectomy. The scientific program includes several lectures addressing key procedural strategies, device selection, and current clinical evidence in stroke intervention.

As part of the program, Santis supports a lecture by Simone Peschillo, M.D., Ph.D., entitled “Balloon Guide Catheters – Advancements, Applications and Clinical Impact”, which explores the evolving role of balloon guide catheters and their clinical impact in modern endovascular practice.

The session aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, practical understanding, and expert discussion around current challenges and solutions in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke.
